FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Introducing the winners of the 5th Annual Make-A-Wedding Wish Come True
BLACKSBURG, VA – Now in its fifth year, the NRV Bridals and Events’ Make-A-Wedding Wish Come True is quickly becoming a tradition that is greatly anticipated. This year’s contest was to be awarded to teachers, one or both currently working for a school system in the Commonwealth of Virginia. After much deliberation by the judges, NRV Bridals and Events is ecstatic to announce this year’s wish is being granted to Elizabeth Kile and Scott Metz-Davidson, both teachers for Montgomery Co. Public School.
Elizabeth and Scott met through their careers within the school system. They officially met in 2008, but began a deeper relationship in 2010. Both knew of each other; but, at the time, her job as a teacher and his position as a student teacher did not allow them to interact as much as they’d like. After initiating conversations whenever possible, taking time to bond outside of school, and a significant bouquet of flowers for Elizabeth’s 26th birthday, the couple began to officially date.
After dating for 4 years, and when Scott knew it was time to start the conversation about marriage, he spoke with Elizabeth’s father. Scott proposed with her grandmother’s diamond on her grandparents’ dock in Annapolis, Maryland, making his proposal that much more special to Elizabeth.
“The proposal was perfect!”, stated Elizabeth in an interview with NRV Bridals and Events. “ I was already feeling so excited to be in Annapolis, one of my favorite cities, and to be showing Scott my grandparents’ home, a place where I had a lot of great memories. When we were on the dock and Scott dropped down to one knee, I was in total shock! I immediately began crying, said yes, and he came up to hug and kiss me. It was at that moment that he told me the diamond in the setting was my grandmother’s, making the moment even more meaningful. I was so impressed and surprised with how much thought he had put into the proposal.”
Now happily engaged, Scott and Elizabeth are able to enjoy each other both in and out of school. In addition to working in the school system, both also have second jobs in various fields. Regardless of how busy they are, they both make each other and their relationship the priority.
NRV Bridals and Events is delighted to grant this hardworking and loving couple the wedding of their dreams. This year, the Alexander Black House in downtown Blacksburg, VA has agreed to act as the wedding venue for Scott and Elizabeth’s Fall 2015 wedding. In addition, the couple will receive several prizes and services, including wedding planning, photo and video services, catering, and many other products and services being donated by members of NRV Bridals and Events.
Due to it being a non-profit organization, NRV Bridals and Events takes any opportunity to give back to the local community. Granting this wedding wish to two wonderfully dedicated teachers allows this organization to truly contribute to bettering the community.
In addition, NRV Bridals and Events hold various events and bridal expos that are open to the community, especially those who are newly engaged. On Sunday, March 29, 2015, NRV Bridals and Events will host its 6th Biannual Spring Bridal Brunch & Charity Event at The Inn at Virginia Tech in the Latham Ballroom. Tickets are $10 for those who register early online at nrvbrdialsandevents.org and $15 at the door on the day of the event. There will be door prizes every hour, a 5-day cruise to the Bahamas, and many more exciting giveaways. All proceeds will benefit Brides Against Breast Cancer, as well as the Make-A-Wedding Wish Come True. Please come and help give another couple like Elizabeth and Scott the wedding of their dreams.
